Our programs emphasize the development of clinical practice skills, teaching abilities and research aptitude. Each residency program is an organized, supervised training program that provides the resident the opportunity to conceptualize, integrate and transform accumulated experiences and knowledge into improved drug therapy for patients. The programs instill the concept that pharmacists are directly responsible and accountable for optimal drug therapy outcomes. The residency provides a training environment that embraces the current understanding of pharmacy practice, with constant encouragement for the resident to participate in the design of the future of the profession. The programs are individualized, allowing for appropriate adjustments in duties, responsibilities and experiences to ensure that each resident has an educational path defined that provides the opportunity to realize the program goal by the end of the residency program.
Rotations are available in a wide variety of practice areas under the support and guidance of preceptors who challenge the residents and encourage independence. Residents also participate in a teaching certification program and gain experience in the fundamentals of research through completion of a research project
