This residency is an ASHP accredited program sponsored by Mount Auburn Hospital of Cambridge MA and MCPHS University of Boston MA. The resident will practice in a collaborative environment with extensive responsibilities for providing pharmaceutical care to patients. Responsibilities will include clinical and didactic teaching, as well as involvement in all aspects of clinical pharmacy services. Upon completion of this program, the resident will have achieved abilities in various areas of pharmacy practice to allow him/her to pursue a wide variety of career paths and to become a leader within the profession.
The PGY1 Residency program at Mount Auburn Hospital is affiliated with MCPHS University. The resident will have the opportunity to develop their communication and teaching skills by
Attending monthly seminars
Providing didactic lectures
Acting as a co-preceptor for PharmD students
As an MCPHSU affiliated program, the resident will be oriented by an academic faculty preceptor, will gain practical teaching experience in a variety of educational areas. With the assistance of faculty mentors, the resident will develop a teaching portfolio.
The resident will hold an adjunct teaching appointment in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at MCPHS University.
Pharm D degree
Eligible to work as a Registered Pharmacist in Massachusetts.
Massachusetts pharmacy license within 2 months of start date
Completing 12-months of residency program and all required rotations
Completing a research project
Completing requirements for the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (MCPHS University) teaching certificate
