Located just north of Los Angeles in Burbank, California, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center (PSJMC) with 392 licensed beds is the second-largest hospital serving the San Fernando Valley. Founded in 1943 by the Sisters of Providence, PSJMC is a non-profit community hospital known for its state-of-the-art technology and high quality, compassionate care. PSJMC offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health care services, including The Disney Family Cancer Center, The Joint Commission accredited Stroke Center and Diabetes Care Program, Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Services, Women’s Health Services, Neonatal ICU, as well as Emergency Department care (including designation as a STEMI receiving facility).
The pharmacy department provides 24 hour care and clinical services including Antimicrobial Stewardship, TPN dosing and monitoring, drug information, drug profile review, glucose management, anticoagulant dosing and monitoring, and transition of care services.
Accredited by ASHP since 2009, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center’s residency program is designed to prepare a motivated, self-directed individual to become a confident and competent clinical pharmacist. This program emphasizes personal and professional growth, enhancement of leadership skills, and development of clinical knowledge for the provision of patient-specific, evidence based care. PSJMC provides a challenging and dynamic environment for the pharmacy resident to hone communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
