The program takes advantage of the many services provided at PRMCE and offers a broad selection of rotations to meet your specific professional goals. Through our PGY1 Pharmacy Residency - Acute Care program, you will gain the broad experience necessary for a successful career as an acute care clinical pharmacist.
PharmacyResidency Special Features:
PRMCE offers a pharmacy practice learning experience in a tertiary care hospital setting. Clinical rotations include general medicine, cardiology, antimicrobial stewardship, medical & surgical intensive care, neonatal intensive care, emergency medicine, oncology and transitions of care. Longitudinal learning experiences include staffing (21 weekends during the year), major project and pharmacy administration to ensure a well-rounded experience. Residents will provide in-services, formal presentations and serve as preceptors for department interns and pharmacy students during their APPE rotations. Opportunities to attend both state and national meetings are included where resident will present a poster and their major project. PRMCE is a non-profit, Catholic healthcare facility that serves a population of over 1.1 million people in five-counties in Western Washington. Pharmacy services are decentralized throughout the institution with 530 licensed beds between two campuses and the busiest emergency department in the state of Washington with over 100,000 annual visits. The medical center is a host site for both University of Washington & Washington State University medical students and serves as a physician training site for a family practice residency.
