Graduates of this residency program will gain experience across the continuum of care through facility and corporate experiences with the goal of continuing residency training in a PGY2 program.
Required rotations include: Medication Management – Clinical Pharmacy (Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Cardiology, and Infectious Disease), Pharmacy Operations, Clinical Decision Making & Continuous Quality Improvement; longitudinal experiences in Continuous Practice-Based Development, Research and Project Management, Medication Management Seminar. Elective rotations are offered in: Pharmacy Informatics, Medication Safety, Medication Management – Clinical Pharmacy (Resident requested clinical areas: Psychiatric Pharmacy, Trauma, Transitions of Care, Pediatrics, Oncology.
A teaching certificate is offered through the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy.

Graduate of an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy; Licensed Pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the state of Tennessee; Letter of intent summarizing reason(s) for pursuing residency training, professional goals, both short-term and long-term, and why you are interested in the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA)/University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy Residency Program; Current curriculum vitae; Three letters of recommendation; One official transcript submitted through PhORCAS; On-site interview (Late January and February).
Residents are expected to seek licensure in the state of Tennessee no later than 30 days prior to the start date of the residency. This includes taking the MPJE and applying for reciprocation, if applicable.
