Serves as a liaison between patients and physicians and community resources. Will help screen incoming students to Student Counseling Services for severity of problems, provide brief counseling, and track the number of students accessing services. This position is grant-funded. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant funding.
Provides counseling services to students upon entry into the Student Counseling Center and assesses needs related to their mental health status as appropriate to the worker's professional training.
Sets appointments, referrals, and makes presentations about mental health services to others in the campus community.
Works collaboratively with the health care mental teams and sometimes refer student(s) to an outside community agency to develop a plan of care which is appropriate for the student?s health status and psycho-social situation.
Track number of students utilizing services and assist in preparing semester and annual reports about services to Student Affairs, Administration, and to the International Association of Counseling Standards.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.
Required Education and Experience:
Masters degree in Social Work
Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to apply strong solving and conflict resolution skills and train and evaluate performance, taking corrective action as needed and dealing with stressful situations while maintaining composure.
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Texas
