Erlanger Health System Inpatient Pharmacy provides progressive clinical services in a variety of practice settings. Areas of clinical pharmacy specialty include Trauma Critical Care, Pulmonary Critical Care, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Ambulatory Care, Pediatrics, Renal Transplant, Emergency Medicine, Nutrition Support, Pharmacokinetics, and Anticoagulation Management. Residents will enhance their clinical skills and knowledge practicing under experienced, board certified clinical pharmacy specialists in an academic teaching environment. Erlanger Health System is affiliated with several local colleges of pharmacy, including the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, Mercer University College of Pharmacy, South College of Pharmacy, and East Tennessee State University College of Pharmacy.
This ASHP-accredited residency is a one year program designed to allow pharmacists to develop a strong foundation in pharmacotherapy, operational and practice management skills enabling them to progress towards a variety of professional goals.
Erlanger Health System is a multi-hospital health network and academic medical center based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is the 7th largest public hospital in the United States. The Erlanger Pharmacy Residency program is excited to be expanding to four residents for the 2019-2020 residency cycle.
The applicant should be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program and eligible for licensure in Tennessee. The applicant should submit a detailed letter of interest, current curriculum vitae, official pharmacy school transcripts, and three letters of recommendation through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) website. All applicants are required to participate in the Resident Matching Program and must be able to participate in an on-site interview.

Erlanger's PGY1 Pharmacy Residency is an ASHP-accredited program designed to guide resident growth and development to provide the necessary skills to competently manage pharmacy practice. The resident will work to develop clinical knowledge, confidence, and the ability to provide therapy enhancing pharmaceutical care under the supervision of experienced clinical pharmacy specialists. Residents will learn to effectively communicate and interact with patients and healthcare providers while refining skills in educating other healthcare professionals, students, and patients. Upon completion of the program, residents will be prepared to practice in a variety of healthcare settings.
