PGY1/PGY2 HSPA-MS Pharmacy Residency at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN)
Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN)
The combined PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration with Master's (HSPA-MS) at Mayo Clinic is in pre-candidates status with ASHP and is currently accepting applications to begin July 2019. The PGY1 portion of this combined residency will largely mirror the existing PGY1 program at Mayo Clinic Hospital (in place since 1972) while the second year focuses exclusively on HSPA. One candidate per year is selected on a competitive basis. PGY1 residents devote much of their time to comprehensive training as a member of the interdisciplinary team. A breadth of learning experiences has been designed to increase and refine clinical competency, provide evidence-based pharmacotherapeutic care plans, and develop competence as an independent clinician. In addition to longitudinal learning experiences in research, quality improvement, teaching and learning, medical emergency response and staffing, each PGY1 resident completes 6 core/required learning experiences. This leave up to 20 weeks of elective learning experience in virtually every area of pharmacy practice at one of the largest academic medical centers in the world. The second year of the HSPA, coupled with the Master's degree, focuses on core rotations geared toward advanced leadership and administrative duties.
