The residency program consists of longitudinal learning experiences in direct patient care, teaching and practice management in a community pharmacy; participation in the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program (IPTec), offered collaboratively by Purdue University and Butler University Colleges of Pharmacy; and completion of a major project in collaboration with pharmacist preceptors and faculty. The resident will have a primary training site at a Kroger Health & Wellness Center. The majority of the resident’s training (approximately 70%) is conducted at their primary training site. Kroger Pharmacy is a large supermarket chain that operates 115 pharmacy departments within the Central Division. The Central Division is committed to the provision of pharmaceutical care services and the advancement of the profession of pharmacy. These pharmacies offer a wide range of services, including: adult immunizations; diabetes screenings; blood pressure screenings; complete lipid panels; medication therapy management; and diabetes coaching programs.
