Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Department of Pediatrics for the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the PCRC Research Nurse Manager position is to serve as an expert in the coordination and conduct of pediatric clinical research and to supervise and direct the PCRC professional and paraprofessional staff in the performance of clinical research. This position maintains the standards of practice on the Pediatric Clinical Research Center in the conduct of clinical research within the guidelines of FDA, IRB and GCP regulations. The Nurse Manager serves as a preceptor for medical students; pharmacy students and fellows; masters level students and volunteers.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Serves as staff resource, developing and providing nursing service expertise to pediatric research patients, and their families in the management of clinical research trials.
Supervises and directs professional and paraprofessional staff members employed within the Pediatric Clinical Research Center.
Determines priorities of CRC activities in collaboration with the CRC Director and delegates responsibility to those prepared to assume and implement them.
Works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other members of the multidisciplinary health care team.
Consults with the CRC Director, to coordinate nursing activities and hospital activities as they relate to collaborative protocol performance.
Develops and provides staff development programs including orientation, in-service and continuing education programs for professional and paraprofessional staff of the CRC and collaborating departments of RWJMS and RWJUH.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
Five (5) years of pediatric experience, including research experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Maintains active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills necessary.

Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements.
