Centura Health System can meet the wellness needs of more than a half million people each year.
Centura Health, in conjunction with St. Anthony Hospital (west of the Denver metro area) is pleased to offer an ASHP PGY1 pharmacy residency program and a pre-accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency program in critical care. In conjunction with Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, two ASHP Accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency positions are offered in Colorado Springs.
The PGY1 program will provide pharmacists with the tools to pursue specialized PGY2 training, or prepare them for general clinical practice through a well-rounded, comprehensive experience.
The PGY2 pharmacy residency program at St. Anthony Hospital, a level 1 trauma center, will prepare pharmacists for working competently and confidently in acute care and critical care practice settings.
Through both programs, pharmacists will develop professional responsibility, learn to promote their own professional growth and maturity, and develop leadership and practice skills they can apply to their chosen area of the pharmacy profession. These programs will provide experience in various clinical settings, and provide opportunities to experience pharmacy practice within a large health system. Exposure to various practice settings will lead the resident to develop an advanced level of knowledge and clinical practice. We have confidence that our program will provide residents with many opportunities needed to achieve various career goals in the field of pharmacy practice.
