The Walmart Pharmacy site serves underserved populations giving the resident the opportunity to deliver a wide range of patient-centered services and will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a new service needed by the community.
The Rush University Medical Center-Rush University Internists (RUMC-RUI) ambulatory care site will afford the resident the opportunity to be an integral part of an interdisciplinary health care team to improve health outcomes through the provision of patient care under collaborative practice agreements for chronic health conditions.
Residency Special Features: This PGY-1 community pharmacy residency program is a partnership between Chicago State University College of Pharmacy and Walmart Pharmacy. The resident will train in a variety of settings gaining experience in direct patient care, clinical service development and implementation, pharmacy operations, corporate management and leadership, and both didactic and experiential teaching as part of a teaching certificate program. The resident will also develop and present a longitudinal research project at local and national professional conferences.
Requirements: PharmD, academic transcript, GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0/4.0, 3 letters of recommendation, curriculum vitae, letter of intent, Illinois pharmacist license by 09/15/18.
