The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is seeking a full-time faculty at the Associate or full Professor level, to lead the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. Presently, there is one board-certified gynecologic oncologist; the plan is to expand to three physician faculty. The long-term goal is to establish a ACGME-approved Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program.
Candidates must have a MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and must have completed an OB/GYN residency and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology. Candidates must be board-certified in the subspecialty of Gynecologic Oncology and should have at least seven years of clinical experience in an academic setting, and have proven leadership skills. Candidates must qualify for a faculty position as Professor or Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Illinois, either on the clinical-tenure or clinical educator track, based on qualifications, scholarly activity and experience, and be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois. Candidates must possess excellent clinical skills, work well in a team-based setting, communicate well and demonstrate a commitment to teaching, mentorship and leadership. A national reputation for excellence in Gynecologic Oncology is required.
Job responsibilities include a leadership role in the Division, clinical care of gynecologic oncology inpatients and outpatients, performance of major and minor surgeries, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and participation in the educational mission of the Department. Patient care includes on and off-site clinics. Gynecologic Oncology call coverage is out-of-hospital.
