Busy medical practice in Annandale, VA, specializing in GYN-Oncology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner.
Provides comprehensive nursing care for assigned patients under the direction of a physician. Follows established nursing standards, procedures and practices, and gives patient care directions to office support staff.
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for surgical and oncology patients.
Prescribes drug therapies per protocol under the direction of physician.
Develops, implements, and evaluates the clinical collaborative practice agreements in the specific clinical areas.
Conducts health assessments of female patients with real or potential, acute, and/or chronic health problems including post-surgical management.
Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, consultation and laboratory examinations.
Prescribes and revises medical regimes.
Interprets findings and plans of care according to collaborative practice agreements and protocols in designated areas.
Provides patient/family education and counseling in the area of health promotion, surgical intervention, maintenance, treatment modalities and disease prevention.
Participates in approved medical research studies.
Maintains a current level of knowledge relative to professional practice.
Acts as resource to staff and implements educational programs.
Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; 2 years oncology
