Promedica Flower Hospital is a 311-bed facility located in Sylvania, Ohio. Our campus includes emergency services, inpatient psychiatric services, obstetrics and gynecology, general community medicine, and outpatient surgical services. The Hickman Cancer Center – the region’s leader in oncology services – and several senior and assisted-living facilities are also located on the campus.
Flower Hospital has an opportunity for two PGY1 pharmacy residents. Interested candidates should be:
Highly motivated PharmD graduates
Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Ohio (required by October).This comprehensive pharmacy practice residency program will include a structured educational experience in the provision of pharmaceutical care while allowing flexibility of design to meet the needs of the candidate.

Ambulatory Care in Anticoagulation Clinic

Drug Information Management
Teaching Certificate Program with the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy

Internal Medicine II

Hospice / Palliative Care
Neonatal Intensive Care*
*The marked electives are offered in partnership with ProMedica Toledo Hospital and ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital. No more than two of these marked electives can be completed in a residency year.
Program goals are intended to help the resident:
Practice responsibly and independently.
Effectively educate other health care providers and patients.
Appropriately manage the medication use process.
Proficiently discern age-related effects/differences with regard to medication use.
Lead medication review and safety efforts.
Function as an effective healthcare team member.
Residents will provide many facets of pharmaceutical care. This will include teaching, staff development, clinical projects, protocol development, newsletter development, and presentation of a major project at a regional residency conference.
A stipend, health insurance, and time-off benefits are offered with this residency.
