Residency Special Features: King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center offers a one-year specialty oncology residency. This program is designed to provide the resident opportunities to develop clinical competence in oncology pharmacy practice. The resident will gain experience in the following areas of practice: inpatient medical and hematologic oncology, inpatient stem cell transplant, adult ambulatory oncology, palliative care, pediatric oncology, infectious diseases, and investigational drug service. In addition to clinical training, residents are involved in educational experiences focused towards the training of pharmacy, nursing and physician trainees and providers. Each resident must propose and present a research project. Upon completion of this residency, graduates will possess competencies that enable attainment of board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) and are qualified to practice as a clinical oncology pharmacy specialist in a hospital-based environment or become a faculty member at a College of Pharmacy.
Special Requirements for Acceptance: Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy, completion of an accredited PGY1, Saudi citizenship, eligible for pharmacist licensure in Saudi Arabia within 3 months of starting the program, and passing of an admission examination and an interview. Applications submitted must include academic transcript, curriculum vitae, a 1-page letter of intent, and 3 letters of recommendation.
