The Boston Children's Hospital Pharmacy Team is expanding our program and our technician career ladder to meet the evolving needs of our complex patient medication including critical care, clinical research, inpatient, and ambulatory patient populations.
This Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for:
Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, filling and delivering patient medication orders as directed by a registered pharmacist.
Preparing and manufacturing medications, as prescribed, following established protocols and techniques
Providing training to new technicians and assisting in organizing daily workflow to meet established priorities and production requirements.
Filling supply requisitions and restocking satellite locations and nursing units.
Entering patient charges on the departmental computer, performing routine quality control and preventive maintenance procedures, and maintaining various records and documentation.
To qualify, you must have:
Availability to work days and 1 evening shift per week and every third weekend. Or availability to work a schedule of straight evenings will also be considered.
HS Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.
Registered with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT registered with PTCB) required within one year of hiring date.
Analytical skills to gather and interpret data.
Ability to understand and respond to written or verbal instructions.
