Christopher House (CH) is searching for Social Workers looking to grow professionally in the field of Early Childhood Development. Candidates must possess a specialized interest and passion for working with Infants, Toddlers, and Two-year old’s.

Determine the needs and provide for the development of children ages birth to six years old
Work to create a safe environment for children and act as a role model for teaching staff
Provide optimal support and services for families and children in the Early Childhood Development Services (ECDS)
Assist in the provision of social work services to low-income children and families with the basic goal of enhancing their abilities to function independently.
The Social Worker will provide head start mental health services as assigned, participate in staffing by making observations of the child and obtaining and sharing relevant family background information.
Conduct intake screenings of new families and individual clients from Christopher House programs, in coordination with the Clinical Supervisor of SWS.
Make observations and assessments of children and their families.
Contribute to the development of the treatment plan(s) and by implementing the clinical portion of the plan.
Provide individual, family and group therapy to children, adolescents and their families.
Decide frequency, focus and duration of counseling on a case by case basis.
Provide consultation to Teachers and to Christopher House staff members regarding specific children and specific treatment issues.
Make home visits to clients when appropriate, provide Head Start mental health consultation as assigned.
Manage each case, with necessary documentation including outcome evaluation data and casework activity summaries.

Strong work ethic coupled with a proactive problem-solving approach;
At least two years of experience in a social service agency providing individual and family therapy. Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Master’s Degree in Social Work or a Master of Science in Counseling required.
