The NP serving as the Blood Brain Barrier NP is a faculty member credentialed and privileged to serve as a licensed independent practitioner, and is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws.
The BBB service NP has the responsibility to be scheduled and/or allocated to BBBD procedure for medical management of their acute care patients. Additionally, the BBB NP is responsible to partner with the patient, family, pharmacist, and nurse case manager to impact timely and effective discharges and patient flow; impact patient and family experience through communication and education; mentor residents, clinical nurses and others; promote an interdisciplinary approach to care; and support new processes to improve patient outcomes. The BBB NP delivers care to both inpatients and outpatients.
In addition to key job responsibilities, qualifications and other job requirements listed below, the BBB NP is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.
