Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Oncology Pharmacy Technician, for Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Oncology Pharmacy Technician is to assist the Pharmacist in all aspects of pharmacy practice that do not require professional judgment or intervention for the purpose of dispensing medications.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Using aseptic technique consistent with USP 797 and USP 800 and NJAC 13:39-11 while following institutional and NIOSH guidelines, accurately and safely prepares chemotherapy as assigned. (Requires completion of formal certification program that covers policy, procedures, technique and law)
Maintains the integrity of biologic safety cabinets by using proper techniques, daily cleaning, and maintaining certification.
Maintains the integrity of laminar airflow hoods by using proper techniques, daily cleaning, and maintaining certification.
Prepares and labels extemporaneously compounded non-sterile pharmaceuticals including the counting and auditing oral chemotherapy.
