Provides interpretation of all Joint Commission standards with special emphasis on standards issues related to specific settings, or accreditation programs, as assigned, for surveyors, healthcare organizations and other individuals within and outside The Joint Commission. Reviews survey reports to ensure accurate placement of findings. Reviews clarification information presented by accredited organizations. Develops memos and recommends accreditation decisions. Presents cases to the Accreditation Committee supporting the recommended accreditation decision. Achieves and maintains surveyor competence in a minimum of one accreditation program.
RN with master’s degree or actively working on a graduate degree, hospital experience preferred, with three to five years of progressive, leadership or supervisory experience. Achieve and maintain surveyor certification and competence in a minimum of one accreditation program. Demonstrated analytical, inductive and deductive reasoning skills. Demonstrated excellent customer relationship management skills. Demonstrated positive peer and leadership relationships. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals at various levels both inside and outside of the organization. Strong writing and speaking skills. Demonstrated ability to function well in a fast-paced, highly visible and challenging environment. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and manage multiple priorities meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations with regards to turn around time and quality of the response/interaction. Expected to travel and conduct surveys.
