Modernizing Medicine is hiring an Associate Vice President of Ophthalmology to drive success for our suite of ophthalmology software products and solutions. The AVP is a key and visible position within the organization, reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer.
The Associate VP is responsible for the overall direction and success of a specialty serving both inside and outside “customers.” As our Associate VP of Ophthalmology, you will spend approximately half of your time setting the ophthalmology marketing strategy, obtaining feedback from customers and partners and setting prioritization for high level features. Internally you will be the primary point of contact, unifying activities across all internal departments. This role serves as the bridge between our prospects and customers, the speciality aligned groups within departments, and our development teams.
To be successful in this role, you will work collaboratively across the organization to align our products and solutions including EHR, Practice Management, Analytics and Revenue Cycle Management services and ultimately drive success for the specialty. Key performance measures for this role include:
Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR)
Annual Transaction Revenue (ATR)
Net Promoter Score
Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates our products within the Ophthalmology specialty.
Demonstrate thought leadership in relevant speciality area. Communicate to existing customer base on features and functions delivered through the product and on the roadmap. Strengthens our client relationships by going on site to speak with customers to validate our overall place in the market.
Tackle complex challenges with a strategic mindset and create thoughtful recommendations and action plans for solving them with product and cross-functional leadership.
Marketing Decisions: Create effective go-to-market plans considering value proposition, target audiences, competitive landscapes, and other factors by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to determine effective launch strategy and communications sequencing. Generate quantitative and qualitative insights that influence communications strategy and inform go-to-market plans / product positioning so what we're building adds the most possible value to the customer.
Sales enablement: Communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales collateral that support the selling process of your products.
Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
Minimize churn and optimize NPS through obtaining customer feedback.
Optimize product development through prioritization of features and functions (have significant influence on business value of features for your specialty).
Lead/Run the weekly SWOT analysis and generate an actionable plan throughout the organization for cross-functional group.
Run the State of the Speciality Sessions for functional heads.
Run the Advisory Board relationship.
Promote the product externally with the press, customers and partners.
Collaborate with physician directors and maximize their utility.
Skills & Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with 5+ years of progressive experience as a specialty or product marketing manager for one or more product lines in SaaS (software as a service)
Bachelor’s in Marketing, Business, or related; MBA preferred
Excellent leadership skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties
