The Division of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine (Hershey, PA) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible CLINICIAN-EDUCATOR Infectious Diseases physician to join our highly regarded group. The ideal candidate will be a junior or mid-level faculty member with strong clinical skills who is interested in joining an established team that provides outstanding consultative and primary infectious diseases care. Rank and pay will be commensurate with experience and academic rank. This is a non-tenure track position.
The candidates will join an experienced, friendly, and expanding academic division comprised of 10 Infectious Diseases physicians and 2 advanced practice providers, with an ACGME-approved fellowship training program. Our group is dedicated to high quality patient care, education, research, and institutional leadership. The clinical activity of the division focuses on robust inpatient consultation services. In the ambulatory environment, patients with a broad range of infections are managed with the assistance of a proficient ID nursing team, and other excellent support staff. As an academic medical center and the major referral hospital in central Pennsylvania, Hershey Medical Center sees many patients who are immunocompromised and have complex infectious diseases. The HIV/AIDS program has been supported by a Ryan White Grant for many years.
The primary responsibility of the candidate will be the provision of clinical care on an Infectious Diseases inpatient consult service, and the position offers the potential for starting a dedicated Hematology-ID consultation service. In addition to inpatient consultations, there will also be ambulatory care responsibilities. Clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows is an expected role of this position.
Appropriate candidates must possess a MD, DO, or foreign equivalent, Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and BE/BC in Infectious Disease, and must have or be able to acquire a license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
